Act on transparency of salary compensation entered into force

On July 6, 2017 the act on promotion of transparency of salary compensation between men and women entered into force after its disclosure in the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt). Article 1 of the act on promotion of transparency of salary compensation between men and women creates a new legal statute in terms of the reduction of discrepancies in salary compensation granted to female and male employees for the equal or equivalent work. In order to achieve this objective employers exceeding a certain size on the one hand are required to meet new requirements and on the other hand employees protected by the act have an individual right to information towards the employers.
